Pending your Occupational Health testing results, you are ready to attend orientation and start working! We encourage you to browse the rest of the New Hire Portal to learn more about Renown Health. You can access your new hire paperwork by logging into your profile at careers.renown.org. Paperwork needs to be completed within 7 days of receiving it, unless otherwise discussed with your Recruiter. The background check information is sent in a separate link and needs to be completed as soon as you receive it.
New employees complete pre-employment online lessons prior to their start date and then attend an in person New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment. Employees who will be working in an in-patient environment may also attend virtual Clinical Orientation. Dependent on the position, Clinical Orientation may be a half or full day. If a position requires training on the electronic medical record system, employees will also be scheduled for virtual Epic training. A schedule for these training sessions will be provided to each new employee.
New employees will be assigned e-lessons through the Online Learning Academy before their start date. Information on how to access this site will be provided to you during your onboarding. Access to internet, a computer with sound, and the Internet Explorer web browser will be necessary for completion.
Each employee’s work schedule will vary. After your scheduled orientation and potential Epic training, you will report to work in your department. Your leader (direct supervisor) maintains your training schedule in the department. You can find your leader’s contact information in your new employee training schedule provided.
Employees are paid for eight hours of time for pre-employment lessons. They will also be paid 4 hours for New Employee Orientation. These hours are added to your time card by payroll. Beginning on day two of employment, you need to clock in using a time clock or using the UKG (Kronos) mobile app.

Most Epic (electronic medical records system) trainings are held virtually. Your leader will provide location for Epic trainings if necessary.
When you hear the term leader, it is referring to the person to whom you directly report. Your leader’s contact information is included in your offer letter from Recruitment.
During orientation, employees are instructed how to log time worked. Nonexempt employees use their identification badges to record time worked in UKG (Kronos), the timekeeping system. Nonexempt employees must swipe their badges at a time bank reader each workday when the shift begins and ends. Employees who do not have access to a time clock register their time via MyTimestamp.
Parking maps are available for Renown Regional Medical Center and Renown South Meadows Medical Centers, and the Rehabilitation Hospital campuses in the New Employee Workbook. For other locations or specific parking questions, check with your leader once you report to your department.
Enrolling in direct deposit will go into effect immediately, your first pay check will be direct deposited. If you choose to not enroll in direct deposit, you will receive a pay card on your first pay day. You can contact Payroll with questions at 775-982-4136.
Employees can enroll in direct deposit online through UKG (Kronos). Instructions and resources are provided during virtual orientation.
You are able to access Kronos beginning the second day of employment.
